Pretty much agree with everything you wrote....
The only way Notre Dame ever joins a conference is if the Power 5 breaks away from the NCAA and requires all P-5 members to be in a conference for ALL sports and aren't allowed to play G-5 schools. Then Notre Dame will have to decide if they want to join the Power 5 as a conference member or play in the G-5 as a football independent. If Notre Dame's administration and fan base truly desires football independence and tradition, I hope all of you will be satisfied playing Cincinnati, Memphis, Temple, Toledo, Tulsa, UMass, Northern Illinois, Ball State, and Florida Atlantic, At least you'll keep your Navy rivalry. It's also likely that Notre Dame will win 8 or more G-5 National championships every decade.
I've had no problem with the ACC-Notre Dame arrangement the past few years because I knew that Notre Dame's goal was to remain a football independent and play all (or most) of their other sports in a P-5 conference. The ACC ended up getting 4-5 games a season with Notre Dame which isn't a bad deal. I don't "hate" Notre Dame, Life is too short to waste time and energy hating on people.
